Simplicity Is Good

To be simple is to be great. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Nothing is more simple than greatness; indeed, to be simple is to be great.
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson, Literary Ethics
When I was younger, during my working days, I like to go restaurants to have my meals. I like to go for high tea also. I love to eat western food. At times, I like to go Chinese restaurants too because I like to eat steam live prawns and sharks fins.
However, those were the days. Nowadays, I used to eat simple food. It is easy to cook and it is good for your health. You can have fun eating at home too.
Today, I cooked fried sesame eggs, porridge, and fried Kai Lan with prawns for lunch. Normally I will serve the food for the family. But today I was busy with my work, and I asked Clara to take the food herself.
When I had finished my work, I came to take a look at Clara. To my amazement, she had decorated her porridge as shown in the picture below. I was so surprised at her creativity!
She told me that she had made a face. The prawns are the eyes, the egg is the ribbon and the vegetables at the centre is the nose.
I was excited by her creation that I also want to join in the fun. Then quickly take my plate and start to decorate my porridge also. The picture below is what I had done.

Normally I will lay the table with newspaper and after every meal I just throw away the newspaper. This saves me the trouble of cleaning the table after every meal.
My thought of the day: Simple is good. Being simple can save you a lot of problems. By eating simple food, you don’t get sick easily, then you don’t need to visit the doctor so often. When you keep things simple, you increase efficiency.
‘Think simple’ as my old master used to say, meaning reduce the whole of its parts into the simplest terms, getting back to first principles. ~ Frank Lloyd Wright
