I am going to sleep. But before that, I find this topic interesting which I can share with people.

How to be a top salesperson
How you define a top salesperson? For me, I think a salesperson can be considered top salesperson when his sales target, sales volume and sales commission is higher than all other salesperson in the company. This is in terms of monetary sense. Another way of top salesperson is one popularly recognised and respected by customers. To be a top salesperson fiancially and be one respected greatly by customers, meaning reputable salesperson is a great top salesperson.

To achieve in sales, you need to have a few elements, as listed below:

1. Knowledge
When you just started in sales, you need to read about your company and your products. Having product knowledge already then you should have sales knowledge on how to sell and market your products. You will be trained in this area, and you will need to be committed in your own part, to do well in it.

2. Time
Having knowledge alone is not enough. You need to devote time to practice your sales script, sales presentation, practice until you are able to present fluently and you are able to handle some of the common objections given by customers. You can often practice this through role-playing with your colleagues.

3. Practice To Get Perfect
After you have learned to walk, then you learn to run. After knowing everything about sales, from product knowledge to sales techniques and handling objections and things like closing techniques, the next step is to go out to seek customers and practice what you learned and close sales! It is not easy, however, to excel in it, it takes practice, and patience, and willingness to learn from mistakes. Learn from mistakes. Improve on errors you make mistakes at.

4. Code Of Ethics
No matter how you wish to close the deal, always put yourself in the shoe of your customer. We do not want a dishonest salespeople, we want to spent money in a worthwhile manner. Always serve your customers politely, respect them and they will respect you as well. Treat them as friend and seek to have a long lasting relationship with them, this can lead you to a lot more referrals some day.

5. Your attitude
A lot of time, to do a lot of things well depend a lot on your attitude. When you have a positive attitude towards your job, you like your job, you think well of your job, you feel proud of your job, you believe in your product. You believe that your product is beneficial to the customer. You believe that they should have your products. Then it is much easier for you to convince them to buy your products.

6. Determination/Will-Power
Sales is a tough job. Just knowing your products and believing in your products are not enough. There are just people around who just won’t buy your things regardless of how skillful you are or how well you are able to sell your products. Sales is a number game. Just keep talking to people, do your normal routines of calling people and have your activities.

7. Discipline
Like I say before, you need to talk to many people, make many calls, or even knock at doors, the main thing is to be disciplined. Everyday have a routine of talking to a specific number of people, and have follow-ups. Ultimately you will find some who will like you and buy from you. Just like the parable of the seeds. You need to sow the seeds at various places. Some will grow and some will not. You won’t know the outcome. But just do your normal routines and you will be rewarded one day. It takes time to see the result.

8. Patient
As mention earlier, it takes time to see the results. Just like when you are starting a fire. Before you can get a fire, you need to gather all the necessary things, and after that, fire would be successful after some stages of smoke emission(from fanning and so on). Similarly, it takes time for people to have response to you.

9. Commitment and Work Hard
With the discipline to work your daily rootings of sowing the seeds, at the same time, looking after your clients(watering your plants at the same time), having the commitment to sow your seeds and water the plants everyday and the ability to work hard and do well seriously is essential for the seeds and plants to grow well.

10. Everything counts. Gain your customer’s trust.
When you are serious in your job, putting your customers in the first place, thinking of the needs of the customers and always seek to serve them whenever they need you and promptly, deliver what you promise. Do not overpromise. Always give a helping hand when you can. Give advice when you can. Do not be selfish. Every little things that you do your customers can see, can feel and they know and even at times when they never thanked you, they already ‘accept’ you in their hearts. Once you gain the customers’ trust, you can ‘sell’ easily to them as they believe you. They might even refer their friends and kins to you!

If you have all these essential elements in you, I am sure in a matter of time, you will be a top salesperson. In other words, if a person with the right attitude, proper training, willing to learn and work hard constantly doing his/her routines daily, serving his existing customers and prospect ethically, in time to come he/she will be a top salesperson.
