Life Made Alive…

By Peace | January 6, 2007

This is the first post of the new year here at Peace Diary. I want to wish all my readers and friends Happy New Year.

Life is so stressful for many people and many people is wondering what is the meaning of life. What is the purpose of life? I have been through these stages, and I had gone through a lot of sad memories too.

While life is so busy, sometimes you do need a rest, pause for a moment and think of some life’s questions. One example of such question can be as below — “What makes your life alive?” Thinking of such questions will not only make you think, by thinking, it also helps you to appreciate things or people around you. It also makes you understand yourself even more and you have a better control of your life when you know what you want and what is important to you.

“What makes your life alive” may not be what makes my life alive. What makes my life alive may also not what makes your life alive. To you, a teenager, may find that their life is made alive when they have online games to play everyday. To another person, a workaholic doctor, may find that their life is alive when everyday their clinic is packed with patients!

Here, below is an article I have just written at Helium. It is a real impromptu thoughts which naturally come to me when I wrote.

What makes your life alive?
A person can be living and alive. Yet this same person may be ‘dead’ spiritually and mentally if he/she has no motivation in life. This same person to me is regarded as ‘dead’ if there is no love and he/she has no desire to learn in life.

What makes my life alive? This is a busy world. A competitive world where it allows only the survival of the fittest. Life is full of ups and downs. You need to constantly feed yourself with positive brain food. You need to think of the positive side of things and upgrade yourself. To me, my life is made alive knowing that I have so many responsibilities to be fulfilled — my responsibilities as a child, my responsibilities as a wife, my responsibilities as a mother and as a citizen of the country.

To be fulfilled my responsibilities in each of the above, I must have love for these people. It is the love for these people which in turn motivate me to ‘propel’ myself forward everyday in my life. With love, everything comes naturally. There is no need for people to tell you what you need to do. With love, you do everything that is needed for your love ones almost instantly. You would wish them to be well. You would want your love ones to be happy and healthy. You do not want to see them sad and suffer.

Besides love and responsibilities, a thirst for knowledge and a ‘learning’ spirit would inspire one’s life. A person who is motivated to learn will always find life more interesting too. A life that is devoted to ‘learning’ is a ‘life’ that never ends. There is absolutely no dead ends to learning. Learning will halt only on the day you die. A person who are humble and willing to accept mistakes, learn from mistakes and accept criticisms and listen to advice; and learned from other people, will have ‘life’, as compare to a person who is arrogant, who always think that he/she knows everything and that there is nothing for them to learn. Such a person seldom reads and improve themselves. To me, they are not constantly ‘upgrading’ on themselves. When you find that you are not reading widely, your knowledge will be stagnant at a certain level. There will be no room for improvement. How are you going to educate the next generation, your love ones also, when your knowledge is limited? Some knowledge such as the current affairs are important. Reading of newspaper and knowing what is happening in the world is of utmost importance too.

With love for the people around me, I act responsibly, I try my best to fulfill my duties well, I am constantly reading and improving my knowledge. I watch the news, I read the newspapers and I spent my time with my love ones — my children, my husband, my parents, my brothers and sisters. Life is fragile. One moment you are talking, another moment you may be ‘gone’. Knowing the love for your families, I want them to be happy, I want to see that they are happy too. At times, my families need my help. I need to love and to forget. Love and care for them, and for their flaws, learn to forgive and forget about them.

Love is the ultimate element that make my life alive. With love, everything is possible.

With this article, I have written a total of 21 articles at Helium. Money is something which has started me to write at Helium. However, the amount of money can be very demotivating given the amount of time spent to write and get published — it takes time to think and type. The reason why I can write a total of 21 articles is the love of writing and the love of sharing knowledge.

Helping the hopeful, a hundred to one;
And, through the chaos, arrange success,
If you’ll only hold on.

Never give up; for the wisest is boldest.
Knowing that Providence mingles the cup,
And of all maxims, the best, as the oldest,
Is the stern watchword of “Never Give Up!”

If you wish to succeed in life, make perseverance your bosom friend, experience your wise counsellor, caution your elder brother, and hope your guardian genius.
