Red And Me

By Peace | May 2, 2007

Red, a conspicuous colour, the colour which symbolizes vengeance. It was said that people who died a terrible death will come back in red to haunt the living, to seek revenge, isn’t that sound scary? How true is that, I do not know. All I can say about red is it is a colour of fury.

The most emotionally intense color, red stimulates a faster heartbeat and breathing. It is also the color of love. Red clothing gets noticed and makes the wearer appear heavier. Since it is an extreme color, red clothing might not help people in negotiations or confrontations. Red cars are popular targets for thieves. In decorating, red is usually used as an accent. Decorators say that red furniture should be perfect since it will attract attention.

I do not like red. I used to have wardrobes of red clothes, little not a lot — during my studies day. Your mood and personality affects what colour you like, and that’s why there is colour pscychology. Colour can tell your personality types. Colours have a special role to play in the expression of personality, mood and emotion. Colour psychology studies the perception of colour and deals with some of the extraordinary illusions that are possible with colour. It also studies constancy , which is the even more amazing ability that one has to recognise the same colours under different lighting. One of the strangest of phenomena under the heading of colour psychology is that of synaesthesia.

Colours are very important and it can brightens our world around us. Without colours, this world would be dull and boring. Dressing in red, or even the sight of seeing me ‘in red’ makes me feel frustrated and no peace. It is a colour that seems to provoke. I detest red now. It is not a colour of peace.

I just happen to see how I will look like to be in red again. But the feeling is terrible. It is anger, frustration and anxiety, totally no peace. Though it looks pretty and attractive, I would not want to be dressed as such in real life.
