Go Church
By Peace | June 25, 2007
Yesterday the whole family went to Church at Woodlands, St. Anthony Church. It was since a long time since we last went for mass. We went for evening mass at 6pm. We were a bit late and the mass had already started.
Ricsson is having his Holy Communion this coming September. I showed him how to receive Holy Communion and what are the things that he needs to do.
It was so nice to go church again after such a long time. They had sang back some of the old songs which is so heart lifting. There were sometime back when they had changed all the hymns and it was so dull. But yesterday was very good, the Father spoke loud enough to be heard and the hymns were nice.
At the end of the church, before the announcement, a short clips were being shown with the song Blessed Be and Ricsson loves the song. He was searching for this song last night.
Something which I learned yesterday:
Do you know that if a husband divorces his wife, he is committing adultery?
If a man marries a divorced woman, he is committing adultery too.
Yesterday was the birth of John the baptist.

It is quite some time since I last wrote at Helium. I had invited two person to join Helium so far. I had so much things to tell the world, but sometimes I do not know where to start. The topic at Helium could guide me along as to what to write. So today I had chosen to write about prayers.
Do prayers work
I do not know God personally. I am still searching for it. However, I do think that prayers do work. Since young, I was taught to pray. Though I have no real idea who Ogd really is, I still pray. I pray to Jesus, to the saints, for wisdom, for peace, for family bliss, for health of my parents and my studies. It does work in one way or another.
However, that does not mean that there were no problems or difficulties in my life. Praying is asking for assistance but on my own part I do my part to help myself. There was a time where I stop praying due to difficulties and all the problems that arise in life — my marriage, my work, pregnancy and so on. And during those time, my husband left me too. I am devastated and do not know what to do. No friends, no one to help, do not know who to trust, it is only natural that I started to ask God for help again. I started praying again and in the end, my husband come back again. But that does not mean I prayed and I got instant results. It took time for ‘miracles’ to happen.
Ever since I stopped work, and my husband is not working as well. My saving account was depleting and I was miserable. I need to do housework, look after children and the family. If I go to work, no one can do my work. I pray to God, to assist me and guide me. I do not know if I ever ‘hear’ God. But sometimes everything just come instinctively and certain opportunities just come at the right time when I needed help most.
I follow by heart. That is how God guide me along too, I suppose. Till now, I am still learning to get ‘in touch’ with God. All I could say is Prayers Do Work.
