Went to church today. The weather was bad. After church, we were caught in the rain.
The children were very playful in the church. They remind me of those days when I was young. My parents brought the whole family to the church. I always sat beside my mother. My second brother and I always play together. I never understand why we need to go to church. It is bored. But I do not detest going to church. I began to questions myself and want to know more about God when I was in Secondary School, and I had Bible Studies, as part of the curriculum, a GCE ‘O’ Level subject as well. Nobody in the family loves to go church, and as the children grow up, my parents hardly ever go to church anymore — perhaps due to their own problems that they faced.
It is hard to convey the message of God to others. How nice if everyone in the family would cooperate, and all have unity. It takes time for children to learn about God. Children learn things fast and they are more flexible than adults. Adults are more stubborn and not many people choose to believe in God. When one member in the family is not in favour of God, it is hard to teach even the children.
But I am not discouraged yet. As long as I tried, I am rightful to my own conscience. I can feel the peace already when I go to church. It is the feeling that I am able to ‘blend’ with the environment, the atmosphere, I felt I belonged there.
