Banquet

By Peace | August 17, 2007

This is Banquet Food Court at Causeway Point Shopping Centre. It is on the seventh floor. Behind the food court is the Cinema, Cathay. There are two food courts at Causeway Point Shopping Center, Banquet is cater for the muslims. I prefer Banquet to Food Horizon, at fifth floor. It is colder at Banquet and moving about is easier too.

The food court design is nice too. It is new but that does not mean that anything new is nice and good. Food Horizon had undergone renovation, but after reopening, it is not much of difference.

There are quite a varieties of food here, fish soup, Japanese food, Yong Tau Foo, Western Food, Cockles Kway Teow, Noodles and so on.

Among the food there, I like Cockles Kway Teow, Fried Sambal Fish Fillet and Yong Tau Foo. Richard was always amazed at the big cups of coffee and tea which Banquet serves. Finally on twice occasion, he cannot resist it anymore. He tried a cup of coffee the first time. He did not finish it. He offers me, which I do not want. The only time when he offers people anything is when it is not nice, and he would think of people!! I was not tempted at all by any of the coffee or tea which any people drink. Size does not matter. The colour of the coffee and ‘smell’, the fragrance does not appeal to me at all. I rather look for quality than quantity. The second time, he tried tea. The same thing happen. Any nice food, he is fast to finish it. The cup of tea, he took so long to even consume half of it. For both cups of beverage, the coffee and tea, both not finished and both was a total waste of money. Both will also be the last time to be bought.

[...] White Elephant Everything in this world happens for a reason. On this day, I was craving for a plate of black carrot cake. I have the craving for my childhood black carrot cake… I can imagine the smell, the taste of it on that day. My childhood black carrot cake used to be bought from Boon Lay Market/Hawker centre. My mother always went to market on Sunday. After market, we would go to the hawker centre to buy breakfast for the family. The carrot cake was so nice. After I moved to Woodlands, the next carrot cake which I can think of, currently in my mind, was the Marsiling one, at the market (have not been there for so long). Having no car, we walked to Causeway Point, heading towards Mega Food Mall. I did not want to go 888 Plaza or Woodlands North Plaza, as none of the Carrot Cake is nice. At Mega Food Mall, their carrot cake is not ready yet and I had to forget about it. But Richard suggested 7th Floor, Banquet… [...]
