Relationship in Second Life can be as complicated as first life. Many people goes Second Life as a means to ‘escape’ from their first life. As I mentioned before the purpose of people going to Second Life, some people goes Second Life just to kill time, while at the same time to find some thrill and enjoyment out of it. Many of the people in this world need to work, they have their stable job. Where most of the time is spent working, upon reaching home, some people have no life at all. They do not know what to do. Second Life is their place to ‘dream’, to ‘visualise’ and to really have a ‘feel’ of what they want and wish to have in their life.

There can be a few kinds of relationship in Second Life — Business Relationship, Love Relationship and friendship or rivals and enemies.

Friendship need not be of the opposite sex. Just like real life, you can be more comfortable ‘talking’ to the same sex and you can have the same sex Second Life Avatar as your best friend. For males who impose as a woman in second life, you will get to know them through time. Sometimes you would even get suspicious by the type of questions they asked. The best option is always to talk to people whom you really know, and to take precautions when talking to people whom you do not know at all.

Just like any real life relationship, everything start from friendship. From Hi and Hello, you get to know more about a person through conversations via IM or voice message. Business can be established and love can be developed as well.

How far a relationship can go will depend on how far the parties involved want to go. For any relationship to develop, there must always be a willing partner, the active ones and the passive ones. If the passive partner will not want the relationship to develop further, the relationship will always remain where it is.

There are many guys, married or single, who go Second Life for Sex. Women also sell their bodies in order to make more money. But not all guys are willing to pay for sex. They would rather go Sex Castle or Free Sex places to have sex than to pay money to have sex. For singles and some married men and women, they also flirting in Second Life too. Perhaps that is the ‘feeling’ people hope to have and to seek for.

For married man, I would consider having sex with another avatar as cheating. This is because behind the woman avatar is a real life person. Behind every avatar is a real person. For having such acts means they have such thoughts. Thoughts in turn will become actions. For having such actions in Second Life, that might only be transient and temporary. After that, the next step will be meeting up in real person when the passion for each other grow further. This is because everything when it is new is so fresh and exciting. However, after sometime, everything in Second Life is just so mechanical. They are just animation and you can initiate anything with just a click of your mouse without much emotions attached.

Second Life relationships is just not so simple. You do not really know the other party’s intention for getting to know you. Sometimes is not just so simple as love. You know young woman married old man for money and not for love. This can happen in Second Life. In Second Life, people can get married and get divorced for as many times as they like. For offering their friendships and for ‘declaring their love for each other’, any man and woman can soon be business partners as well as husband and wife in Second Life. How they manage their money is all case to case basis. But to the cheaters, their main aim is to take as much money from the ’spouse’ or lover as possible.

Yes, Second Life can be so dramatic. There is the so called mastermind behind everything that seems to happen. Everything happen for a reason. The reason is to try to have more money going into their pocket, just like in TV serial, we have the young lover cheating the married man for money. The wife was notify in some way and the man got worried. The lover asked for money, otherwise their bed scenes and conversation over the IM will be sent to the wife. No money? The photos and history of IM was sent to the wife. That really happens in Second Life. This is no TV serial.

Getting married, people give you presents and gifts. Money received as gifts. These people will be even more happy. One month later, you see that these people are divorced. Why? So that they can find new ‘money-tree’, new ‘money-mates’ so that they can get married again and the whole story repeats.

Second Life Relationships and real life relationships, no matter where you go, as long as there are people, there are no ends to . People create problems and people find ways to solve their problems. Is that hproblemsow people lead their life? Second Life problems will prevail in your first life problems. Second Life is nowhere and no place for you to escape. By creating more problems, you have more problems to solve.
