Ricsson’s First Holy Communion is finally over. His Holy Communion was on 29th September 2007. As the group is very big, there were split into two session, one on Saturday and another on Sunday.

I remembered my own First Holy Communion was in Church of St. Francis of Assisi. It was a better organized session than this one. It was rather on last Saturday when Ricsson had his Holy Communion. During my time, my Holy Communion was considered more memorable and meaningful than this. There were speech given by the priest and the sisters. I wonder where are all the sisters now. Nowadays I do not see any sisters or nuns in church. Sisters used to teach in the church also, but now, I never see any at all at St. Anthony Church.

My Holy Communion was a better one. After the mass, there were group photo-taking. There were individual photo-taking by the photographers too. At St Anthony, there were photographers on the day, but there was no any strict procedures. I saw the photographers walking around, taking any photographs as and when they liked. We were asked not take any photographs. However, there were still many photographers around.

Besides photo-taking, my First Holy Communion was much more memorable than this one because we were asked to proceed to the hall for refreshments. All the pupils were seated down, in front of some food and our First Holy Communion gift was presented to us. The gift was a plastic rosary. There was a prayer before we began eating the food. Everything was so orderly and nice.

My most unforgettable memory about my Holy Communion is a photo taken with my mother. The photographer was really good, it captured a photograph of me receiving the Holy Communion with my mouth, and my mother standing behind me. My mother was wearing a reddish-maroon coloured dress. I was wearing a knitted white hat and all-white dress. The photographer also captured my mother receiving Holy Communion with her mouth. Until now, these photographs are still kept in my photo album.

First Holy Communion
