You Know Me?
By Peace | November 21, 2007

Beauty are transient. For not showing my real photographs does not mean I am ugly. I value the more tangible and truth of everything when not judged merely through the superficial look of appearance.
Your Weaknesses are Your Strength; Your Strength, Your Weakness
You know me a not, that is not important. It is beyond what I can control. What are you thinking is not what I can grasp either. However, I know myself. I know my origin, I know what I want and I know what is my merits and demerits.
Little Bit About Me Again: My backside is very red…
I am a TeoChew, pure Teochew — both my parents are Teochew. I am ‘teochew nang’, 潮洲人. My parents are not well-educated. My father only has Primary six educational level and my mother never had a chance to go to school. Do they wish to be like that? Nobody would want to, but nobody can choose what kind of family they are born in.
My Parents
My parents raised us, the four children, using their own knowledge and with all their best — no books on parenting, no internet, no talks and no parenting seminar. They were not rich, and they had to bring up four children during those days. It was not easy now that I know. Until now, I still speak Teochew with my brothers and sister. My brothers and sisters, my parents and I, all speak Teochew and it is how we communicate.
My Childhood Language
I spoke Teochew during childhood, as I was brought up with that language. My parents cannot speak English. My father learned a bit of English as he need to use it in business. However, that was very easy ones. My mother learned Mandarin and she learned a bit of Malay. My father knows Malay as well. I learned a few words of Malay from my mother when I was young.
English Is Not My Major
English is something which I was first taught and learned in Kindergarten. I was not very proficient in English, nor Chinese. Even now, I do not excel in English or Chinese. Language is something which I will never be able to master.
ReviewMe Blog Post Rejection, Not Transparent Enough
Today, I received a ReviewMe rejection for one of my blog post. This blog post was approved previously. After one week, now it said my blog post was rejected — reason being the post contained spelling and grammar mistakes. Well, if that is the case, why my blog post was approved one week ago? It was stated that if I want to be paid for the post, I need to amend the mistakes by a given date. The date given was rather short, if I had not read the email, I would have gotten another blog rejection, and all my effort gone to waste. However, I do not know if they would approve it after I ‘tried’ to amend them.
Approved within first three days, After one week or more, you never know if your blog is ‘rejected’ for some reasons — No payment received despite blog post in existence and links functioning:
On numerous occasion, during my previous blog entries there, I were surprised that why I was not paid for post which I had written (and approved). Nothing was mentioned about the post rejection at the ReviewMe user panel at all. Rejection only shows you in the email. So if you do not log in your email, you would not have know anything about blog post rejection even if they tell you previously that your blog post was approved. Such things are just so insecure to bloggers. This is something which I do not like and such thing only happen at ReviewMe. I do not have blog post approved and then ultimately rejected at Blogsvertise or Payperpost or even Smorty and Blogitive.
Page Rank Drops, Huge Impact
Currently, I have lesser earnings — lesser tasks and no new advertisers. ReviewMe is always a source of revenues for me despite the past issues. Who do not have mistakes? But for penalizing me for blogging about them and cancelled my account without even informing me, that is very unprofessional of them(PayU2Blog). ReviewMe is definitely better in this area. They paid me what I am supposed to be paid, and I am still blogging for them. Recent changes were made to their system, but such case of blog rejection after approval still happen. For this reason, I always had phobia writing for them — no security at all. If blog post is going to be rejected after approval, at least be more transparent, show it in the home page, so that when I log in, I can see. I do not check emails everyday. This is a minus point.
Our blogs, our personal space
For all my posts, this is the first time I have got rejection for poor grammar and spelling mistake. I am sorry if I have such poor English. Who are perfect in this blogosphere? There are people who spell subscribe as ’subscript’, there are people who confuse mind and mine. This is not a school anymore. This is a working society, neither is this the publication companies. Every blogger has their own style. Some prefer Singlish and some just like to combine English with any other language, Japanese, Korea and so on. What is the big problem when all you want is just a link or two? What is the so big problem when the blogs are our own ‘brands’.
Careful shopping — discover, compare, and can you afford to take a risk
However, I do understand the fact that whoever are paying have the right to ask for anything. Just as in any normal consumer who regret buying something from the store, they would give a lot of lame excuse to ask for a refund. But there are really cases where the goods are no good at all. We are happy that there are no questions asked about exchange policy. Whatever it is, this is a ‘live’ world. Everyday you have new things happened, old things in repetition and things undergoing ‘mutation’. If you are happy with me, you stay, if you are not happy with me, you leave. This is how things work, don’t you?
