Lent Me Your Heart
By Peace | March 6, 2008

That is Father Terence in Pink, very surprise to see that colour — Even Ricsson was surprised. He asked,”Why he dressed in pink?” Richard was surprised too. This was the first time I saw Pink. According to the one of the website, forgotten where I had taken it from, it said :
Rose
[Historic, not in use except for candles] Rose (that is, a shade of pink) was sometimes used on the third Sunday in Advent, to signify joy.
The use of the color rose has a strange origin. Long ago, the pope had the custom of giving someone a rose on the fourth Sunday in Lent. This led the Roman Catholic clergy to wear rose-colored vestments on that Sunday. The effect was to give some relief the solemnity of Lent, so this was a very popular custom. Originally—before shopping malls—Advent was a solemn fast in preparation for Christmas, so the custom was extended to the third Sunday in Advent to liven it up a little bit, too. Somewhere in there the third candle of the Advent wreath turned pink.

- Colours of the Church and Seasonal Dates
- Season of Lent
Today I am busy writing all the posts about Lent at Peaceinspiration.com, the site about Light. These are the four posts about Lent:
Season of Lent I
Season of Lent II
Season of Lent III
Season of Lent IV
I never like pink, but on that day, my view was changed. At the church, it look so refreshing and I thought the reason must be some sort of Joy since it is the Fourth week of Lent. Christmas was red, celebration and joy for the birth of Christ. So my reasoning is quite true; and colours play such an important part in our lives and also in the church.
I like Father Terrence’ Mass. His mass is never boring. He delivered his voice loud and clear. I can feel his spirit. There were no priests at St Anthony or St Mary or St Francis and St Joseph whom speak like him. He is a great priest, a priest who inspires.
