Spirit of Sandpiper
By Peace | April 11, 2008

Picture taken at Woodlands Town Garden: The soft-shelled turtle was what I seen here, the mangrove swamp here. It was so small and cannot be seen clearly here. The smell of mangrove swamp, I missed. There is another one at Pasir Ris Park, I enjoyed standing on the bridge there, looking down at the swamp. No wonder I have the spirit of sandpiper. Many beautiful memories were seen back in my brain….
Everything Counts
What makes my brain ‘open’, all my senses at work? I tell you, its the smell of the sea. The fresh air of the park, the fragrance of the flowers, and the beauty of the God’s creation….
Rare Opportunity: 二人世界 or 饿人世界 I am So Hungry, We are hungry
On 4th April 2008, Richard and I cycled our children to Woodlands Stadium for their school’s Sports’ Day. After that, we walked around and discussed about where to eat breakfast. We were always busy with work and children, have hardly any time to explore the area here in Woodlands.
Soothing colour, beautiful roof, a welcoming effect, what a good improvement, INDEED Home Improvement.
The first thing we saw was Woodlands Swimming Complex upgraded. That was beautiful, and on Sunday, we had our swimming there.
Ease Our Hunger, Mirror of Peace
On this rare opportunity where the children had their own activity, and we had our own time, I felt so relief and so carefree. We could not decide where to eat and in the end, we remembered the old place where we used to go often for our meal, which was Blk 167, beside Marsiling MRT station, the block of old flats. We used to go there for our meals. I loved to eat the vegetable rice there, while Richard loved to eat the duck rice there. However, on this day 4th April, that morning when we went there, I could not find what I wanted to eat.
What You See Is Not What You Will Get, That is why it is called Mirror
I was surprised to see majority of the people there were not eating, but drinking only. I went to order Laksa, but only to be told no Laksa. Then I looked around the rest of the stall. The fried noodles all looked so black, and not delicious at all. This place, I don’t know what is the coffee shop’s name, but I saw the Chinese words, 平安镜 (平安 (pin ang)= safe and peaceful; 镜 (jing) = mirror), but I find no peace at all. We left the place after that.
Mirror, Mirror On The Wall….
Cycling on the pedestrian pathway, trees and birds were what attracted me. The yellow flame and the Golden Shower are my life. My favourite flower of Singapore, Golden Shower, caught my attention one day when I was walking back home near my neighbourhood. The floor was full of yellow flowers, the trees with bunches of hanging yellow flowers, those are real beauty of nature — and I told Clara,”I love this tree, so beautiful.”

Golden Shower (Cassia fistula), taken at Woodlands Town Garden, a tree I found walking in the park, brighten up my day.
Spirits of The Three (Spiderwick/ Spiderweak) or Tree??? Spirits Exists!!
It’s the trees, the trees give me life and the trees lead me to the ‘old’ frequented place, Woodlands Ave 1, the place where our family always have Chicken rice or meal there. At the traffic junction, there is a Yellow Flame, filled with birds, that was the tree, the place where all the birds came, the place where I saw all kinds of birds, my answers, my appreciation of life.
As usual, I saw many things along the way, and I got to show you slowly, too many things, and all so wonderful.
The Heart of Woodlands
And so this is the place where I had found comfort for the day, that morning. That morning, my heart was so good, I was inspired, filled with inspiration and motivation. My appetite was good, and I ordered duck noodle (duck Guo Tiao Soup). That was the moment where I found, the Heart of Woodlands….
