Church of St Anthony of Padua
By Peace | May 10, 2008
On this day, Pentecost, Father Vincent cut his hair, wore red – Red is the color of blood, and therefore also of martyrdom. Red is the color for any service that commemorates the death of a martyr. It is also an alternative color for the last week of Lent, which is called Holy Week. Red is the color for Pentecost Sunday and for ordinations and installations, because it is the color of fire and therefore also of the Holy Spirit (see Acts 2:3).
On this day, I saw myna and most importantly, the ‘Sparrow of my life’ came visiting me on a tree, right in front of me. It was such a wonderful moment by just seeing the sight of the birds.
On this day, I was so happy to be back to St Anthony Church of Padua. It was so homely kind of feeling I had. On 3rd May 2008, I went to St Joseph Church, but that was a rather ‘disappointment’. I missed St Anthony Church that week. It was a long ‘awaiting’ week for this coming Saturday to listen to God’s words. Church of St Anthony of Padua contains so much memories of me and God, the path/journey of faith.
It was on 20th April 2008, the day where Father Cyril was the priest for the mass, that I understood why the church had always allowed people to wait outside before allowing them to come in, with the sign “the words of God is being Proclaimed or something like that,” that was the ‘first time’ I was so late, and first time waiting outside, to enter the church, and all the doors are locked. But that day, I was given the front seat… I saw the word of God, the Love that was printed on Father Cyril’s clothes, it was the word I painted for Richard… I was so touched…
Out of the church, I found the new signboard, bigger and nicer, so much cleaner and proper, really deeply touched. Gone was the old one and new Peace Emerged.
I tell you, All Is Real and The Truth. It is so unbelievable how the power of prayer is. I just need time to tell you more…
The success of a nation, the success of an individual relies greatly on not only himself, but with the help and assistance of God, and all their wonderful people who have faith in Him. The salvation of the world depends on the work and co-operation of everybody. It is a time where the dead, the living and the saints all go marching! How perfectly matched and how wonderful the flowers selection and the flowers being used at the church. They are so meaningful to me. I had taken several photographs of St Anthony Church which I would put up soon.
