QiHua Victory
I was so happy for QiHua Primary School. They had won the competition. Ricsson was so concerned about his school. He reminded me about the show and he even recorded it.

This is a photograph taken with my camera from the TV screen.
World of Names and Acronyms
This is a S$100 small 14-inch TV, the brand is TCL. This is a funny world, so funny. Fated, destined or what? This brand and this 14-inch TV is of course related to what I had ‘been through’ during my working years, and I think the story begin there too, and also before it as well, it is so funny, so dramatic…
Lineage: We Are Brothers And Sisters
What I see, what I think, indeed ‘was something related’. Last night, I was so surprised to see the VP of QiHua Primary School to be of the surname LEE. I forgotten when I first saw her. Her first look reminded me of somebody. Her look was so familiar, it was as though she was some relative of mine. But definitely it was not, since she did not even know me.
Last night, I saw her name, her chinese name, but it was too fast, and I could not even read her full name, but only know her surname is LEE. What a coincidence, and really, I do not know how she is related to the LEEs.
Principals Means The Ultimate Education?
But her look, her look was exactly the kind of ‘mould’ from the second brother of my maternal grandfather. My father was not happy with him. He was the principal of Anglo-Chinese School(not the current one) that was what I heard from my sister. What happened to him now or whether he is still working or not, who care, because he is a principal but he is full of AIRS, and HAO LIAN (teochew, meaning proud, ie YA YA, acting like nobody business) — that was the impression I have of him, even now while I am typing, the impression (the image on my brain about him) was at the house, my grandfather’s house at Teban. He was so really HAO4 LIAN4 (acting proud). His family all looked YA YA, very DAO (not sociable).
Principal Means Got Principles?
Even not long ago, perhaps last year or what, my father still mentioned about him. It is all about the pen. It is not a matter of how much the pen cost either. But according to my father, he is so NIAO (MAO = 猫 = stingy). What exactly happened I was not so sure, but apparently, it seems that my father had a pen. This principal had no pen, borrowed a pen from my father and never returned it. My father wanted it back, but was ‘kena suan’ (sarcastic remarks said to my father). ‘How much is the pen?’ How would you feel when someone answer back like that when all you want was to take back your pen? I gave a pen to my father for his birthday. Over the years, all the pen was lost as people sometimes borrowed from him and refused to return. So my father now uses cheap pen. But it is not a matter of how much the pen cost! It is a matter of getting back what is ours because we need the pen to write! This principal, what kind of attitude he has and how he treated people like my father, his senior, and his brother-in-law. Is this education? Is this how an educated person, the PRINCIPAL should TREAT an uneducated, or not-so-educated person like my father (my father worked as labourer, cleaner, farmer and driver and then boss, his own business, to raise the family — all through his own effort, no paper qualification at all)
Educated Principal or Certified Principal?
This principal, walking around with no pen, borrow pen from someone whom he ‘despise’ and ‘mock’, what kind of heart he has? He never even say anything nice to me, nor even say ‘anything’ at all. In my memory, I have nothing, no words from him at all. Whenever, we saw him, my mother would ask me to greet him. I greeted him and that is the end, nothing more. This is called relative? He did not even care for my mother at all! This is called Principal, the one who ‘look after’ a SCHOOL, but do not care about the welfare of others, even the family?
Progress For The Nation?
Anyway, it is now over, and I hope and I want to make sure that Justice Will Be Paid. I saw this on my parent’s door. I was not aware. Walking in and out everytime, but I only remember the Boon Lay house with this cross, but I did not know that this house also has. That day was Mother’s Day, 11th May 2008 and I took this picture.
Principal: Head of The School, The Greatest Influence
Talking of Principal really make me ‘mad’, especially thinking of what these teachers said to me and what the Principal told me personally. And now what kind of Principal my relative was. I don’t have to know what he is doing now, even if he is reading this, he ought to think of what he had said to my father — NO RESPECT for my father at all — looked down on people!

Anyway, I am proud of QiHua Primary School. I never know that it has such an old history, (70 years already!). Watching the show last night, it was all ironies of life…
