Eucharistic Adoration: Corpus Christi
By Peace | May 25, 2008
Music is so important in life. Music can evoke such a strong feelings in a person. In funeral, music is played. Music is played in shows and it is sang in various occasions, when happy, and in celebrations such as wedding and birthday. The most important aspect of music is its ability to express our convictions and feelings that words alone may fail to convey. Music has the power to console and uplift spirits. It has the ability to strengthen our faith and love as well.
Somehow, music is a natural inherent ability within me which convey my feelings with God too. The inspiration just come naturally. Just like on 24th May 2008, the music of the day which I had (inspiration) was Kiss and Say Goodbye(Manhattan), and it was images of my first Holy Communion I saw, which flashes on my mind.
On this day 25th May 2008 where Eucharistic Adoration For Primary 3 class was being held at St Anne Room of St Anthony Church, the Song of the Young Prophet was being sung. It was the first song before the adoration start. I did not know that this Eucharistic Adoration means the
presence of the Monstrance. It was my second time seeing it. But on this day, as I was asked to kneel down, the song began, and just as I turned my head, I saw Father Terrence walking in, just at my right hand side when I turned my head. He was wearing black and with his eyes looking at the Monstrance, just like this photo. It was the same look, same serious look, and same seriousness as he held the Monstrance and walked in front towards the front of the room.
I cried in awe, It was instant ’surprise’, instant touch, instant moved. This is really beyond words can describe, it is “I don’t know why” kind of spirit. It is just naturally like that kind of feeling, that automatically I reacted like that…. Oh The Word of The Lord, it is the words of the Lord, words of God that I yearn and seek. It is joy and hope of the heart, looking forward everyday. This is the so-called mystery of Faith…
Just as I had mentioned the importance of dressing up, the importance of colour and their meaning, during this Corpus Christi Procession, Father Terence looked so cute in this outfit. This is the kind of ’similar mind’ that the Holy Spirit has on us.
Father Terence is a good priest, a priest which can deliver his speech clearly and able to inspire people. I am glad that he is the parish priest. I remembered some other priest in the church. None of the previous priest has ever inspired me. Bad experiences, it was all bad impression of them…
