QiHua Primary School Crest
By Peace | May 29, 2008
Qihua is one of the oldest schools in Singapore, with more than sixty-five years of history.
He who endeavours to serve, to benefit, and improve the world, is like a swimmer, who struggles against a rapid current, in a river lashed into angry waves, by the winds. Often they roar over his head, often they beat him back and baffle him. Most men yield to the stress of the current… Only here and there the stout, strong heart and vigourous arms struggles on toward ultimate success. ~ Albert Pike
This is a quote taken from The Gift of QiHua Primary School during their open house in the year 2003. As I flipped the pages of the book, I was so captivated and touched to see the school crest, with the Motto, Persevere To Succeed. I had never really ‘appreciate’ the meaning of school badge or crest before, but until April, I began to know the meaning of it all…. It is all meaningful and everything have meaning. Everyday I send my children to school, I see this logo/crest, but I do not know the real meaning. I can only guess, but I do not know if I am right. Their internet website did not show this at all, and it was all the ‘surprise’ and work of the ‘holy spirit’ that ‘lead’ me to this discovery. I am so grateful to God.
The Laurels symbolise aspiration for success.
The book symbolises the quest for knowledge.
The Torch symbolises the search for life-long learning.
The Globe symbolises the global outlook of the students of Qihua.
The Stylised form of the word ‘QiHua’ represents a lion which is noted for its magnificence and bravery.
