Pray For Peace

By Peace | July 8, 2008

Awoken with sweet and scary dreams. This day is rather moody. But I was so happy to see this insect, praying mantis, waiting for me at the railing, at the site where I used to see the mynah, at the stairs. I stood there, waiting for Clara, and observe the praying mantis. It was so long since I last seen one. The last time I seen the praying mantis was at my Boon Lay house. The house got so many insects — spiders, butterflies, moth, beetle, etc.

Not long ago, Ricsson caught grasshopper, and this time, I saw a praying mantis. Last time, my mother taught me to put it in plastic bag (blew air into it and tied the plastic bag). That was how I caught the praying mantis. At the Boon Lay house, I caught another yellowish-brown big grasshopper also.

This time, I never catch the praying mantis. But standing there, nothing to do, I stretched out my hand, try to touch it. The praying mantis’ eyes are so special — with one black dot on it. It looked at me. When I stretched out my hands, it uses its two front legs to ‘defend’ himself. Later on, it climbed onto me, and it did not bite me at all. Just then, Clara came.

I brought the praying mantis to my corridor ‘garden’.

During the evening, we went to Blk 834 Seafood to eat dinner. These are the butterfly trees which we often walked by. First time, my eyes opened to see the flowers from this first tree blossomed. First time I find these flowers so beautiful especially on this day…

A Song of Praise

The heavens are telling the glory of God,
and the firmament(sky) proclaims his handiwork.
Day to day pours forth speech,
and night to night declares knowledge
There is no speech, nor words,
their voice is not heard.
Yet their voice goes out through all the earth
and their words to the end of the world.

How Great Thou Art: Pray for each other. When others don’t know how to pray for themselves, God answers our prayers on their behalf.
