National Day Parade 2008

NDP 2008 - NE Show 1 - Marchpast of Guard of Honour

Today, a cool and windy weather. I love this kind of atmosphere. Last night, I did not have to on the air-con also.

My sister never missed any of the show every year. She loves to watch National Day Parade. I don’t like crowds. Watching at home is better than traveling there, watching steps and smelling smoke and so on…. I love this scene, the Singapore Flag with the different crests on it looks so nice.

First time, first time, I watched the National Day Parade, NDP 2008 on TV, and enjoyed watching it…. watched the whole show. I was so deeply touched. The songs, the music and the soldiers made me cry, but I hold back, otherwise ‘people’ might thought what happened to me. I love the musical band, the sound of the music, the parade, the soldiers in smart uniform… I have never had a chance to wear, but people who have a chance to wear ‘curses’ (’cho’, hokkien) it.

Everything first time, including the Chinese/Teochew opera, and all the other show. It was such a nice show, a successful NDP 2008, Singapore’s 43 birthday…. despite the drizzling. The weather was bad — rained in the afternoon yesterday. I thought the Parade would be as usual or postpone. And was surprised to see the soldiers marching in the rain. The sky was grey, it drizzled and I was moved, deeply ‘touched’ or perhaps not so much of ‘touched’ but its just naturally tears and heart ‘clouding’ with emotions…. I believe our Father in heaven was touched by our unity and rejoice over my ‘awakening’, walking the right path now, revealing His Way, His Truth and His love and Mercy…

I love the flags

This is just like the day of Corpus Christi, the people in the church carries all the different flags, walking round the church (Corpus Christi Procession). This is so nice, so touching. It is really so honourable, so proud….. I love Singapore

Singapore Flag: Red symbolises universal brotherhood and equality, White stands for purity and virtue. The crescent moon represents a young and growing nation. The five stars stands for democracy, progress, peace, justice and equality.

The State Crest consists of two animals flanking the crest — the Singapore Lion and the Malayan Tiger. The Malayan tiger is a symbol of Singapore’s close links with Malaya (Malaysia).

The Singapore Pledge is recited in all Primary and Secondary Schools, and junior colleges after the flag-raising ceremony. It reminds the younger generation of the goals and principles of our nation. It is also recited during the National Day Parade to remind all Singaporeans of our pledge to be committed to Singapore.
