C.H Koh Clinic For Women

By Peace | October 1, 2008

30th September 2008: About 6-7 white cranes at field just opposite Causeway Point

Hail Mary, Full of Grace…..

Spotted the white cranes while sitting at the platform of Woodlands MRT station, awaiting for train. After I had caught sight of it, they flew to another spot.

Heading to C.H Koh Clinic For Women

Arrived at Toa Payoh MRT Station. Richard led us to the clinic.

At the left hand side of the entrance: C.H Koh Clinic For Women

This is the most beautiful part of the clinic — the luxurious victorian decor door.

Inside the clinic: C.H Koh Clinic For Women

Come to know of this clinic in the year 1998, the year I was pregnant with Clara. Dr Eugene Ng referred him to me. The clinic has not changed externally and internally, except for the faces of the nurses. There are new and old faces, but the service is still quite similar…

Long Waiting Time
Everytime I want to see Dr Koh, I got ‘phobia’, ‘phobia’ of waiting time, and that would be okay if that can be compromise by better services at the frontline….. I ever wrote an email to Dr Koh, that was some years back, when I cannot stand the service of the nurse anymore…

My last visit was in the year 2005… the time I had abortion. This time, before I went to the clinic, I book my appointment first, as usual (no walk-in!!!?????).

30th September 2008, 4.30pm appointment
I arrived earlier, because I know that I still have to take queue number despite the 4.30pm appointment. My queue number was 815. At the time it was serving 803. I asked the nurse about the estimated time and was told to be about 5.30pm at least. So we went KFC to have something to eat… At 5.30pm, it was only serving 809. It was about 6.15pm by the time it reached my turn…

No Smiling Face
Before I was issued the queue number: Upon arrival at the clinic, I was standing at the reception. Nobody entertain me… as usual… the nurses are all busy, all time busy. (And that probably explain why the nurses have no smiling face, never before since my first visit… ) I had to catch their attention and I had to call out to them, before they know my existence. It was almost 10minutes and more before I got my queue number, because they had to search for my card also.

The Doctor that Matters
Ultimately it is the doctor that matters. Because of the service of the nurse, I had tried other doctors, nearer to my home, but they don’t gain my trust. Still, I come back to Dr Koh… if the nurses could offer better service and if the appointment time is more punctual (eg. 4.30pm, then it should be about this time we see the doctor….. but this is the only clinic that is operating something different….

the long waiting time is inevitable as dr. koh is well known in this area.

my wife also sees him when she is having our first child. unlike the previous doctor, who insist that my wife take 2 injection which is not necessary.

on top of that the previous doctor did not tell my wife that the fetus is sticking well on the wall.

so, it is really up to you

I had my first kid with Dr Koh in 2004. He is good. Only complains are the long waiting time and poor attitude from nurse. Almost didnt want to go to him for my second one due to ‘phobia’ of long waiting time. Decided to stick with him since he is good and has very affordable rates.
