Earth Day?
By Peace | April 16, 2010
Finally something had been done to the ‘Dinosaur Playground’ at Fu Shan Garden. This dinosaur playground is hardly cleaned. But I had seen cleaner coming to sweep the premises and it was quite well-done now. Despite heavy rain, I did not see any water trapped there anymore.
Town Council or NEA?
Yesterday I saw this particular cleaner sweeping the floor, and he was taking many black plastic bags. He is not the usual cleaner. He speaks English and is young! The regular cleaners that I had seen at my neighbourhood are so far old and they wear green T-shirts (their uniform). This young cleaner do not wear any uniform also. Whatever his origin, as long as work is done, thank you! Children and residents get a cleaner environment and a healthier environment then.
Clean and Green Singapore
We really have to thank the cleaners for this. However, at places like the carpark rooftop and even our HDB rooftop, these are places that are often overlooked. They can be deadly potential dengue hotspots — as can be seen at the carpark rooftop near my house. Since first sighted until now, it will be soon coming to a month. At first I thought that problem is solved, but looks like it is really a question mark, a big question mark…
Last night I posted Mozzie Wipeout at JustSingapore.com. This morning, birds were flying in the air, the sky was beautiful… what a perfect weather, so cooling. This morning, I was able to hear the National Anthem so clearly (from QiHua Primary School). I stood at the window and I saw the pool of water still at the rooftop. The water is fuller now, after the heavy rain yesterday too.
Intelligent Messenger
I lost count of the number of times I saw the crow at the pool. I feel very ‘sian’ (tired) to post about this matter already. It is so ‘boring’ taking the same pictures, repeating the same words. However, I was ‘compelled’ to do so and I must tell you what I saw. At around 3pm today, I heard the crow calling so loudly. I told Richard about it, and I quickly went to the window to see. The crow was really there, standing at the edge of the rooftop. The crow did not drink the water or bath at all. It merely stood there, watching, facing towards me.
The crow is regarded as the bird that can ‘tell’ or convey message too. They are such intelligent birds, as can be seen in Aesop’s Fables. After watching the birds bathing and drinking water at the rooftop these numbers of days, I also agree that birds are so intelligent. They have the natural instinct to tell the ‘state’ of the water without having to taste them or touch them.
Green Algae, Green Pond, RoofTop Natural ‘Garden’?
Today, the water appear clear still, but you can see slight tinge of green. If nothing is going to be done, probably we are going to have a Carpark RoofTop POND at Woodlands! But it is not going to be a deep pond. It is going to be a very shallow pond, a pond to breed algae and a pond to breed microorganism… and MORE…
