4 pieces of Forms received yesterday, on 29th June 2010, given by QiHua Primary School
Yesterday I wrote about School Forms — the variety of school forms that parents (I ) received from the school. There were no standardisation at all as can be seen from the forms above. Just the second day of school (Term 3) and there are four pieces of forms to be filled up.
Look at the forms above, two obvious DIFFERING letterheads can be seen — the first and second forms. The next form, is from PE department, and there is no letterhead at all, but the word Annex B! The forth form, which is on the left, cannot be seen, is a form called Form E3, Application for withdrawal of funds from Edusave Account.
What does this tell you or show you?
To know more, perhaps you need to look at what was first given to me and then what was given to me again the next day (which is shown in the above and below photographs).
On the first day of receiving the scheduled dates for Analytical Thinking Programme(ATP), I was not sure if that was a continuation of the programme from previous term… no head or tail about this program at all.
Yesterday, I got more information about this matter. Let’s take a look at the letter below:
A letter from QiHua Primary School to parents of P5 students informing them about Thinking Skills Programme
The letter is dated 28 June 2010, and on the letterhead, it writes: Through the Principal…. Dear Parents/Guardians…. and I would describe more about this in another post.
So this means that the principal is aware of all these matters… the principal ‘approved’ all these circulars…
In the school, the principal is the head of the school, the one who is answerable for all major events. The principal is the one who ensure that everything runs well and smoothly in the school. He/she has authority over the rest of the staff, including the security guards. I had never been a principal before. However, I suppose principals are once teachers…
Teachers played such important roles in the school. They are the one who spent almost half the day with our children. The teachers’ words have such tremendous effect in the class. Their words influence the children and their words might affect them for life! The teachers’ words inspire the students, motivate the students and helped the children to excel in school. On the other hand, teachers can demoralize students as well… The school is such an important place OF STUDY for the students. It is the place where the future generations of leaders are being moulded. It is the place where our future ‘HOPE’ is being placed.
The school is the place where students learned. Whatever the teachers said and do, the children see. Whatever you teach, the children learn… Children are very clever and smart nowadays. They do not just ‘listen’ to what you say, but they want ‘more’…
Can The School Fly?
The main ‘machines’ of the school is the school teachers. The principal is like the ‘engine’. The general office can be compared to as the necessities required for the smooth running of the engine — the lubricants, the other necessary bits and pieces like the conveyor belts and so on. In order for the school to function effectively, everything needs to be COORDINATED well. In order for this to be so, effective communication is very important… how well is this for this school?
