Fu Shan Garden Playground

Green dinosaur slide

Green dinosaur slide (Before Floor-Washing)

Compare the two photographs, above and below.  The Sembawang Town Council had its cleaner to wash the floor last week.  But I still see nobody coming to this dinosaur slide to play.  I did not bring Isaac here to play here yet also!  This green dinosaur slide playground is always that ‘cold’…

Green Dinosaur Slide

Green Dinosaur Slide (after floor-washing)

Thank you Sembawang Town Council(the cleaner), once again for cleaning the playground.  But they only wash the floor…  it is really impossible to play at these dirty slides.

At Fu Shan Garden, there are two such dinosaur slides.  One green and the other orange, as shown in the photograph below.  Both dinosaur slides are just as dirty, despite all the floor washing.  These playgrounds are sites which I had to bypass everytime I go out.  These playgrounds are like ‘white elephants’ really.  Why?  You can understand why now — the dirty floor in the past, and now that it is washed, the slides are still as dirty.  How to slide???

For fifteen years, this dinosaurs playgrounds are here. In the past, there are sand for children to play sand castles. As time passed, the sands got dirty. The management add new sand, but soon, it just get as dirty. Nobody came to play. Then they add these rubber flooring to the dinosaur playground next. Still, it is just as ‘cold’.

Everytime I passed by the playground, I saw grandparents and baby-sitters with their babies. Such babies, like my baby, really cannot do much in this garden. This is really a pity. Such a big garden, a beautiful garden, but its recreational activities are limited….

In fact, there are so much repetition of the same recreational activities: slide I mean.  The contemporary playground has 3 slides.  Each dinosaur has a slide, and so this make it up to be 5 slides in total at Fu Shan Garden!  However, imagine that Fu Shan Garden is such a big garden.  If it is to cater for so many children, having 5 slides is reasonable.  But the thing is all these slides are so dirty and they are just not serving the RESIDENTS any USEFUL PURPOSES.
