Yesterday we walked to 888 Plaza. On the way, a pigeon flew in front of me. It walked in front of me. I noticed it. Then it flew away. I traced the sight of the bird as it flew away. It flew into the ‘modern cave’, above this pillar as shown in the photograph above, the space just above the MRT pillar or the space below the MRT Tracks. The same pillar is still dripping water. We were not walking on this pathway yesterday, but the lower/old pavement….
At 888 Plaza, we walked past FairPrice. NTUC Learning Hub (stationed outside Fairprice) is recruiting students outside their store. After bypassing the 24hrs coffee shop, I came to this shop… I used to come to this shop to buy things until one fateful day… I told this lady (the mother, and also the lady boss I supposed) that the packet of herbs contains bugs/beetles, but she said,”Where got” when I even brought it to the counter to show her. Later she took the packet of herbs and flung back to the far end of the shop where the herbs were supposed to be put…
Who knows that yesterday, this pigeon, the unexpected guest, visited this medical hall, Bird’s Nest Medical Hall… I did not notice anything at first until I heard a man’s voice asking the bird to go away… I turned my head and saw this ‘spectacular sight’, so surprised and I took a video of it spontaneously.
888 Plaza Bird’s Nest Shop
The shopkeeper was sunning three trays of red dates outside their shop on this sunny day. This medical hall used to occupy the whole shop by itself. Lately, it has sublet a portion of the shop to sell Mobile phones… In the past, the medical hall used to treat patients. They got a son who did this task some time back and Richard was the patient… But now, a medical hall selling handphones….
I had stopped patronizing this shop since the fateful day. I did not see their signboard before, but only yesterday, 5 August 2010, do I know of their name and their real ‘profession’….
The maid was asked to catch the bird by the lady boss, and then the man who tend the mobile shop as well… the man asked the maid to release the bird at a far far place, else it will come back again. I followed the maid and saw her released it near the stairs…
Watching the news last night, I knew that The Olympic Light (YOG FLAME) had reached Singapore yesterday…
