Sakae Sushi Restaurant

Sakae Sushi Restaurant

Today is my birthday! It is nothing usual about my birthday, I would think. It is now, still nothing peculiar, but just that it is a day where my mother has given birth to me…this would be a more ‘appropriate’ thinking. Yesterday, I wanted to go Sakae Sushi to eat ‘first’ before my birthday — Richard was saying ‘not your birthday’… but you know what, I would rather prefer not to ‘celebrate’ my birthday IF only you can ‘treat’ the family better. That would be an ‘everlasting’ gift — everyday is ‘birthday’….

Nobody knows what can happen tomorrow. Today, it is not raining, and I feel like eating the steamed egg at Sakae Sushi, and afterall you want to celebrate my birthday…. So is it not right to ‘listen’ and grant this favour? Then what is called Birthday Celebration if everyday your views are not being respected………….. more more (the woman’s point of view…..)

So here it is now, raining outside and perching on the sheltered rooftop linkway are 6 pigeons — 5 black and 1 white spotted one

Today, my birthday, nothing special at home. NO ONE Treated me extra nice — still as usual, every night has to wake up to carry Isaac… Watching PEOPLE sleep…peacefully, don’t need to ‘worry so much’…. And here I am, doing my job, my hobby, my interest.

Why I choose Sakae Sushi Restaurant despite the fact that I do not like to eat Sushi.  As what I had told Clara, we would go other restaurant when Isaac is bigger.  I wanted to eat other things, but consider the design of the restaurant elsewhere, it is rather difficult to ‘walk around’, rather cramp.  I just like the ‘brightness’ of the restaurant… the ambience.

Upon entering the restaurant and given the menu, I wanted to order…. but I don’t know what is going on between Richard and the waitress… It was crazy. I wanted to order, while the waitress never say anything… Richard told her later…. It is not as though I had never seen the menu before, and this is not the first, second or third time we went to this restaurant. So fine, the waitress went to bring the drinks first, I was told… really don’t know what had happened between the two of them.

When the drinks came, another male waiter came with the woman. This woman was apparently ‘teaching’ the male waiter. She was telling him and showing him about opening the drinks and pouring the drinks before serving. I just tell them,”Just put on the table… we can open ourselves.” With children around, it is really better to open at ‘appropriate times’. When you dine at coffee shop, this is the norm too. Can you see, the woman ‘teaching’ the male… Let’s see how GOOD is the woman waitress… (See : Product Knowledge — another post — to be up soon)

Computerized System in Restaurant

Computerized System in Restaurant

We happened to sit at Table No. 5. Surprisingly, Table No. 6 which is behind us, have their computer system working. I saw that they can click on the computer for ordering food and for asking for bill. How good it is. Over at our side, we were sitting at the last aisle. It is so quiet, hardly any waiter/waitress would notice us….nobody seem to care. The only time you can ‘catch hold’ of someone is when they bring in customers or when they bring in food for the customers. Other than that, I have to keep a watchout and WAVE my hand for ATTENTION.

At our computer system, it is written “Server Problem”… Otherwise we would have a ‘better time’ there.  There really is communication breakdown yesterday and the staff ‘coordination’ was very messy.  I saw staff wearing different clothes (uniform).  Some with T-shirts, some with green uniform and the male with white long-sleeved and black pants had to be the manager (I supposed).  Clara said,”This man, looked so angry.”  I saw him, walking here and there, never a smiling face.  Even at the last, when Richard asked for bill, he never smiled at all.

At the basement Japanese Restaurant, you would be greeted with Japanese words (don’t know what those words are), but you know is greetings and they greet you with ‘bow’ and smile.  This is a friendly welcome, but not in this restaurant BEFORE.  But still I patronize this restaurant, not for their SUPERB service, but for really FOR FREEDOM, feel AT EASE.

The last time I went to other branch was at Bugis (with Teppanyaki — that was very good) and Bukit Batok.  At Bukit Batok, I had forgotten what it is (something about the straw), but I was angry with their service.  The manager was really okay, really know how to treat customer — speak nicely and politely.  She offered an ice-cream out of goodwill in the end.  I never go back to the branch despite being greeted when you enter the restaurant….

Sakae Sushi Welcomes The World.” Seen this flyer card hanging everywhere in the restaurant…
