Destiny
A dream of Pokemon and Lion… It is about concert tickets. Lion had brought the tickets. I did not intend to go with him, but don’t know how to reject him. Perhaps he sensed it. He keep reminding and stressing on the date. I had forgotten the date, but it seems like Saturday. Next, Pokemon came with as well. He wanted to go to the concert with us as well — me and the children… We were so busy, forgotten what is it really about, but it was a shopping complex…
Marina Square
Lots of steps on the stairs, just like those on Marina Shopping Mall… I looked up and saw one shop on the side of the stairs. I walked up to the shop. The next thing that I can remember is shopping for some stuff. A woman was tending to the shop, a woman whom I seemed to have known, but she was my mother’s hairdresser at Boon Lay… she told me not to tell anyone about her….
Decision
While shopping, I was looking at my watch. The concert is starting at a time which I had forgotten. But in the dream, I told Pokemon that if I had missed the concert, I can still go again on another day — I don’t want to miss the chance of uniting with my niece and children. I want my children and niece to attend the concert too. Lim Chan was with me. It was moments of waiting for her…
The Face Business
Next, I found myself standing on a ground, looking up, I saw two houses or rather 2 walls. On the far most right, a door with a plaque of FISH, so big that it occupied almost the height of the wall. It is a golden and coloured plaque of the Luo Han Fish (花罗汉鱼 – Hua Luo Han Fish). The next house, just next to this one, in front of this house, contains another picture on the wall. There seemed to be papers pasted on the walls. On the third most house, on the left of me, a man standing at the door. He was talking to me since he saw me looking at the plaque. He said,”that one is not the nicest..” He is talking out of jealousy I thought. He said that his house has even better Luo Han Fish, more beautiful than that. The one with the plaque is a sign that the owner had won the contest. The walls of the house looked like those of Marsiling shops… In this part of the dream, I saw a shop that looked like NTUC, and I saw the word “LEGEND” in the dream also.

Chinese has various beliefs. They always wanted to look for fortune or wealth. They seek ways and means to get rich. Some would buy crystals, others even buy fish, believing that they would bring luck to them. Still, they are others who pray to the dead, go to the tomb and to temple even, to ‘ask’ for numbers (4-digits) — so that they can strike lottery.
Special Blessings From Hua Luo Han
Trends
During the year 2003, keeping the Hua Luo Han, the fish shown above in the photograph, was a ‘fashion trend’. People believe that Hua Luo Han bring fortune and blessing to Homes. How true is that? Richard as well as my neighbour kept the fish during those days. During those days, Richard spent hundreds of money that may amount to thousands, buying the aquariums and various breeds of the fish. Now there are no more Hua Luo Han at our home.
