HDB Temple

Fish Appreciation
For a moment I seemed to have forgotten what I had dreamed earlier on in the morning. I just remembered a ‘coloured fish’ that appeared on the ‘second floor’ of a ‘factory’ when I went into a toilet that was enclosed by grey cloth. I was searching for toilet and ran into one, among the many others. In this toilet, enclosed with a grey cloth, I looked out in front of me. To my surprise, I saw a white fish, but coloured with yellowish and reddish coloured on its shiny surface. The fish was flipping when I spotted it — showing that it was alive. ”How did the fish get here?” This was what came to my mind. There were steps (stairs) just in front of the fish and below this floor is the ‘factory’. Someone else were with me, but I had forgotten who they were.
Chinese Temple
This is the only obvious image I can remember and really stay with me since this morning. As I tried to recall and finally gave up, I suddenly remember more. It was a dream of HDB TEMPLE I had — a message trying to tell me about something that is ‘not true’ or ‘should not be’… I saw a 3 room flat living room. In the living room was placed with ALTARS… or an Altar, placed with offerings or rather, incense. Women were ‘praying’. I saw Pan LingLing standing outside this flat/house of temple. I wonder if she is in her right mind. Someone had told me that she was spotted and she was not in her ‘normal self’ (something like that) earlier on. Next, I saw her through the window. She was wearing a orange-pink T-shirt, with her hair let down on her shoulder. She was talking through the windows. Where am I? From what I had seen, I was inside this HDB temple! But of course, I did not see myself. I did not go to this house also, but this is what I SEE in the dream — and the message I got.
Christ The King
For two weeks we did not go to church…today the church will be celebrating the Solemnity of Christ The King… If everything is running well, we would be in the church at 11am. But since I was not feeling well, we stayed at home. At 11.36pm, I was in the toilet. I heard the children and Richard talking. Later I realized that someone had rang the bell. Again, nobody was seen. Richard heard the lift door opened and closed… He suspects it was Hong Lu… This is really a mystery….

Loyalty vs Compassion
Last night, I watched this movie on Channel 8 and it showed some Catholic Rites in this show. It is a show about the Chinese “god” (the so-called Guan Er Ye by the HK) and the English God (Jesus)… an interesting show… which involves deep reflections….
KING of the kings
Enough of the side track, back to HDB flat Temples. I was personally ‘led’ to Clementi HDB temple and also Bukit Timah Terrace Temple! If you read my blogs, I am not a person who know fully about my religion nor the rest of the religion in Singapore. But, I am just so curious to find out about the Truth and the importance of being a disciple of Christ or to be nonchalant about it. To been through all this is an experience. People can have all sort of sayings and you would not know whether they are the truth. But based on your own experience, you can never forget what you had been through. Despite what the mediums and the ‘translator’ or ‘adviser’ had said, I just took everything with a pinch of salt, because I had learned about some Catholics teachings and what Jesus had taught…
Temple Creation
Legal or Illegal is not for me to say. But I check the internet for such topic or discussion about HDB Temple. I found two interesting reports about this.
STOMPer Vicky says her parents-in-law’s neighbour has set up a temple in their flat, and is worried about the safety implications of all the burning involved. She says:”My parents-in-law’s neighbour in Marine Parade runs a temple in their three-room HDB home. ”Every Saturday, stools are lined up in the four-unit corridor awaiting customers to the temple. ”We have to put up with smoke and ashes from joss stick and joss paper burning. ”When we complained to the Town Council and NEA about fire hazard, we were told that since ‘proper receptacles are provided for the burning of joss papers’ along the corridor, no action would be taken, except to ‘advise the occupier to show consideration to others around them when they burnt joss papers’. ”Does HDB allow a temple to be set up at home? ”Is it safe for open fire burning along corridors, especially when flags are hung so close by ”Must we wait for accidents to occur before the auhorities take action?”
This HDB flat at Jalan Tenteram is being used for unauthorised temple activities, says STOMPer complainthero, who urges for legal actions to be taken against the tenant of the flat. This is not a new problem and needs to be addressed as it creates noise pollution for the neighbours. The offerings left lying around also attract pests and obstruct the pathway. In an email, STOMPer complainthero says:“Here are pictures of the abuse of an HDB rental flat as a makeshift temple/shrine. “The so-called medium (tangki) creates noise pollution during rituals like hitting the gong. “As you can see in some of the photos, the offerings, which consist of food and drinks, are left lying around. “This could attract pests like cockroaches, lizards, and pigeons. “Such cases have persisted for years and it seems that HDB does nothing about them. “Imagine if other religious groups start their own makeshift places of worship. “These makeshift temples prevent cleaners from performing their cleaning duties by blocking the pathway with the altar and offerings.”
