THE UNSEEN
This morning, I had a ‘half-conscious’ dream — meaning, I know that I am dreaming, and yet it is as though I can can control to be awaked or to continue dreaming (closed my eyes). Just as I was consciously awoken from this dream, strangely unable to sleep anymore, I opened my eyes and saw the surroundings to be dark still. Just as I tilted my head a little, I heard some sound just behind me on my left ear. I have no idea at all what sound was that — is there any insects or some things had dropped behind my pillow? Obviously not. Nothing was behind. I continued to sleep. When I opened my eyes next, it was bright morning. The wind blew. I heard sound from Richard’s computer, which was placed on the table in front of the bed. It was sound of the keyboard I heard! Was I imagining? But it was once only. After that, despite the wind still blowing, there were no other such sound to be heard. I am not dreaming nor imagining. I am of sober sound mind.
End Result of Education
Singapore is a place where so much emphasis is placed on education. Children as young as 18 months are going to school (playground), and nowadays, even infants are placed in such babycare centres with specialized childcare helpers as their teachers. Everywhere is educational institutes. Everyone wants to have good educational qualifications to secure a good job, a good pay in life.
Educated Society
Despite all these educational institutions and seemingly high standards of living, we still see crimes going on in this small country. Of late, we often hear of gangs fight and there was also another death involving a Chinese man at Marina Boulevard. Is this the result of an educated society?
Republic Polytechnic
This morning, I ‘witnessed’ a very unusual scene and an awesome sight at Republic Polytechnic. I was not physically at this polytechnic, but was there ‘spiritually’ — I was rushing for time. In my hands were NTUC plastic bags containing various groceries. Running and crossing the traffic lights, I arrived at a destination, which seemed to be the wet market of Woodlands North Plaza. I put down my plastic bags (a few bags) and walked off — going to some places with my friends (three of us in total, but cannot remember who these friends were. One of them seem to be my primary school classmates, Kay Kiang…) Somehow, upon crossing the traffic light, which seems to be at Marsiling, the junction between Tech company and Marsiling MRT, I realized that my handphone was lost. I thought that I had forgotten to bring it along. But the handphone strap was with me. It must have dropped somewhere. I was so anxious. I wanted to go back to look for it.
Finding Alternatives
I did not know if I really went back, but I had images in my brain showing me searching for the handphone from the NTUC plastic bags. And yet, in my brain, I also have messages telling me that Richard told me not to go back to find the handphone…. I asked him for solution and he said about his galaxy tab at home. So you see, this is such a realistic dream. Even the handphone strap which I had seen in the dream is EXACTLY the same as what I am having now.
Bloodshed, Blood Debt
Next, we witnessed a scene at Republic Polytechnic, but it was a place at Causeway Point. It is a woman lying beside a man just beside a wall somewhere beside the open-space outside Metro. This is the place where previously there were several activities being held here. One of them being Woodlands Environment Day (as shown in the photograph above). This woman was bleeding on her arm. I walked past her and she told me that she was trying to save herself. She had cut herself. I saw the ‘slits’ on her arm. Blood stains on the floor. She was like dying and I could not understand why she said she was trying to save herself by cutting herself!
Possession
Next, she grabbed me. She grabbed me tightly. I wanted to help her. I took pity on her. But Richard wanted to go. I said,”What about her?” Then I thought to myself, what if she died and she was still clinging on to me? Some thoughts came to my mind… about spirits…. I listened to Richard. It was so hard to ‘shed’ her off. The next moment, she was standing in front of us and looked perfectly alright. She was laughing at us. It looked as though I was tricked….
Crowd Control
There were crowds. But at this corner of the wall, this woman had such a bad cut on her arm, revealing deep cuts and blood (black??). Pools of blood stains on the floor where she just laid. Despite the crowds, nobody had come forward to help. There were no police sighted in the dream. Instead, some students were doing some laboratory testing. Looking in front of me, I saw a pot of plant. Sometime later, I discovered changes to the plant! The plants contained extra growth — scales-like growth (which looked like dragon scales)! Next, I observed further. It seemed that for every 2 minutes, there’s a growth spurt by the plant. I saw the plant grow tremendous ‘branch’! What an amazing sight to witness!
Republic Polytechnic is the fifth Polytechnic to be fully funded by the Ministry of Education (MOE) of Singapore. A polytechnic education opens doors to a professional career and provides various other avenues of career advancement.
School of Engineering
Nineteen-year-old Darren Ng Wei Jie, a Republic Polytechnic student, was attacked by a group of persons, sustained serious injuries and later died at Changi General Hospital. The incident happened at Downtown East, on a Saturday. ‘Many thought it a Halloween prank’, and this includes the shopkeepers! It is said that this incidence arises due to a series of staring going on among these youths…
Lifestyle Destination
In Singapore, people always like to watch what is going on to other people. Somewhere this year, I had seen an accident happened near Woodlands 888 Plaza. There were many onlookers. Traffic barricades were set up to prevent the crowds from going near the police investigation site. This is a case involving a life, a fallen death perhaps. Yet, at the opposite side of the accident site, crowds were busying queuing up and predicting the numbers (4-digits) to bet on!!!!!
Singapore is such a small country and yet population is increasing. To control crowds at various places, especially where queuing up is a necessity, we often see stanchions or belt stanchions being used near cashier counters, in banks, as well as in concerts and various exhibitions. No matter how educated a society is, people still need to be under control… Crowd control products help people stay in lines at the banks, for concerts, political events, at the grocery stores and anywhere where people needs an orderly line. Stanchions are a standard way to do this — There are retractable belts, velvet rope and more ways being developed all the time. Printing can also be done on the belts!
As crowds are getting more in more parts of Singapore, more crime rates and accidents are bound to happen if people are not careful enough….
