Hua Luo Han Bring Fortune and Blessing to Homes
花罗汉带财福入家门
Geomantic Fish? Bring Fortune? Save Owners?
风水鱼? 旺财? 救主?
“There are uncountable types of fish in the marine world being owned by fish lovers. There were numerous reports in newspapers and magazines that some of these fishes bring fortune, foretell events or save their owners at the expanse of their own lives etc.
To ascertain the truth of such reports, the writer of the book (The Origin of Hua Luo Han) checked with Cheah Yoke Tong, the creator of Hua Luo Han, who was not in a position to confirm the truth of these reports despite his long years of experience dealing with fishes.
However, he shared with the writer an incident which happened to his family in 1984. His father fell down in a bathroom and was admitted to the hospital. A doctor in the hospital said Cheah’s father suffered from a stroke. During that time Cheah had been keeping an Arowana. One day while the family members were very sad and worried over Cheah’s father’s situation and feeling restive, the Arowana jumped out of the aquarium and thereafter died.
While the family was still in a shock over the death of the Arowana three days ago, they received the news from the hospital that Cheah’s father died of a stroke. Looks like the fish’s death was the harbinger of Cheah’s father’s death. Cheah’s father death brought much grief to his family. This is an unforgettable event for Cheah for the rest of his life.
Was it coincidence or psyche, no one can confirm. But things did happen the way they were. According to Cheah, similar incidents also happened to his customers and friends. Some brought fortune, some served as forerunner of some misfortune. It really takes a person to experience it to feel the psyche. Cheah hopes Hua Luo Han will bring peace to society and also happiness, health and peace to families.”
This book contains 14 sections and the 10th is about The Rearing of Hua Luo Han. Preparatory Work Before Rearing Commences — “On the outside, it may look simple, but the rearing and appreciation of fish are indeed an art and also an appreciation. Therefore you can find the fish of a great number of fish lovers died not long after being reared by them. Some were brought as beautiful and lively fish but just turned dull after a while. The owners will get disappointed and get rid of their fish. Why some fish are well-reared and others not? What are the reasons for the contrast?
Before you start rearing the fish, you must give some thoughts and ask yourself certain questions. Once you are psychologically prepared for the task, you have just won half the battle….”
The book continues to give tips and advice on Hua Luo Han rearing.

The Son of Man came…
Let us acknowledge the LORD;
let us press on to acknowledge him.
As surely as the sun rises,
he will appear;
he will come to us like the winter rains,
like the spring rains that water the earth. ~ Hosea 6:3
