Pentecost Sunday
By Peace | June 12, 2011
Today is Pentecost Sunday, the birthday of the church. I had an amazing dream.
I was in the church with Nicole. As I was walking with her, I saw some church booklets on the brown seats (pews) of the church. The booklets were so beautifully designed and they contained beautiful and colourful pictures of Jesus. There were also numbers written on the cover! I was so tempted to take the booklets, and I wanted to know what was written in them. However, in the end, I did not take any of them.
I came to a building, an enclosed space/room that looked like a store, a very big store like that of a warehouse. On the right of the warehouse was the fruit stall. On the floor, next to the stall was a pile of green coconuts. A man came walking in and started shouting and scolding at someone whom I did not see. He was asking the person not to steal the coconut when no one was looking. He said that he could hear the sound of cutting the coconut opened.
Next, it was a strange dream at this junction. I saw my father’s sister (Ah Muay) with her husband seated in the old (kampong) house, the door wide opened. Facing the main wide opened door, their facial expression was weird. They were saying like ‘pretend that nothing happened’. They were forcing themselves to be ‘normal’. At this point, I seemed to have slept previously at the place mentioned above (the warehouse). I had dreamed that the father-in-law had died, and a date of 15 June was involved…
In the dream, next, I saw Ah Muay and a woman walking at the carpark of the HDB flats. They were walking back from some ‘erands’ (preparing the funeral of the father-in-law) and I overheard their conversation. It was funeral preparation 3 days later…
Dream of the dreams. I could not believe it. It was so real. I asked my mother if Ah Muay really had father-in-law, and where is the mother-in-law? Was my dream real? That means that what I saw earlier on was the father-in-law was dead already, and kept in the room! Though I never seen this man nor know this man, the mention of this man brought a vague image of the man in my mind strangely.
Next, I was at the highest floor of a building, having climb up from a certain floor (when I see others climbing up). At the highest floor, now it was time for this women to go down the building through a small hole (outside of the building, a rope going down all the way from the top of the building). To prevent falls, there was canvass covering the rope, making the whole thing looked like a tunnel. At the highest point of the building, you need to queue up for your turn to go down, get yourself prepared for the journey down the building. I saw those women in front of me going down the ladder and then began their journey down the ‘tunnel’. As my turn was approaching, I began to ask the woman beside me, the one who was with me most of the time. She said that we were at the 14th floor!
When my turn came, I did not know which way to go down the ladder (the positioning of myself). Do I face myself away from the ladder or face myself to the ladder? In the end, I face myself away from the ladder (backside leaning on the ladder), and I walked down the vertically placed (perpendicular) ladder on the floor. I need so much to balance myself with momentum and speed. The woman who was attending to me saw something special. I asked ‘my companion’ what was the reward for climbing down 14 storeys? She said that there might not be anything afterall. However, before I climbed down the ladder, I saw the previous batch of girls was given golden brooch souvenirs. These were the special brooch and beret souvenirs of the SAF!
So my turn came, I finished climbed down from the ladder. This woman who was attending to me, made a decision herself. She asked me to follow her to another place for a competition. I followed this girl. She was dressed in white and blue, the uniform of a nurse. We came to a building and we had to travel up the escalators. Floor by floor we went. Then suddenly, we saw her superior. She came and was saying things like this nurse never listen to her, made such decision herself. The next thing I know was that I was flying and flinging around the sixth floor of the building. The escalators that I was standing kept repeating the same place! I was stuck at the sixth floor and quickly ran back to ask for help. I asked the assistant nurse for more details about the competition.
Next, I was shown the competitors. They were the Chinese Celebrities. These women chinese celebrities were dressed in Cheong Sam. At this level of the building (don’t know which level), these celebrities were trying to show me something. One of them was Cynthia Koh. They were all lying on the floor, ‘pretending’ to be asleep. As they ‘fallen asleep’, you can imagine what happened when ladies wore dress to sleep in the night. All the women started to reveal their thighs and even backside! A whole wide range of fair thighs and some with tattoos! I am going to compete with these people? What talents do I have?
I am obviously the odd one out, and the only ‘such contestants’ among them. Why am I being placed here?
Next, the nurse showed me some ‘skills’. It was using paper napkins, the type of drapes and 3M paper towels to make hats and such for myself. The bluish 3M paper towels were folded and made to tie on my head. It looked so silly. And I was asked to eat something later. All this ‘skills’ to compete with the rest?
The last segment of the dream involves that of my mother. In the dream, my father was around too. My mother had told me that she had used the cream that she bought to rub her legs. But after rubbing the cream on her legs, her right leg became limp. She was describing to me and when I looked at her right leg, it was of weird shape and it was curved as well… I went to her (kampong) room to look at what cream she had put on. I found a tube of BODY SHOP brownish cream with the picture of Avocado on it. It was some Avocado cream she had rubbed. She said that the cream cost $8.
In this dream, I also saw a man, dressed in white shirt. One moment, he looked like a Chinese celebrity (cum model and hairdresser), and another moment, he looked like Billy Wang. This person was singing 汪洋中的一條船…
