The Gatekeeper

Dreams, the doorway to another world? This is so impossible, and yet it is all real…
A painting by Liu Kang, displayed at Singapore Art Museum, known as Adjusting The WaistBand. What sort of woman do you want to be?
This morning (21 September 2011) I had woken with no recalls of my dream at all. Yet, in my subconscious mind, I had a wonderful experience, a wonderful encounter. What was it? I thought hard. Finally, it was some instructions given by my master. Who was this master? It was a Chinese man with grey hair — white and black hair on his head. He was at his working table, standing by his table and talking to me. I was standing in front of the table (the table was pushed to the wall, so I was standing facing the table), looking at a piece of rectangular piece of ‘work’ covered with thick dust, extremely thick layer of dust — so thick that I could even see the dust particles on these work, covering the work of art beneath it. These works were so special. They looked like fruits. To me they looked like the apricot (but they were not apricot), and the colour of the fruit was orangish, its texture like that of the dried apricot, but this one is slightly smoother than the former. I was gazing at the special artwork. The master (my teacher in the dream) told me not to touch the work — it was not finished yet — touching it would spoil the artwork. Next, I was naturally curious and asked the master,”what is it for?”
There comes the answer. It was meant for the wings of the eagles! I was surprised. How can it be done?
The master told me about the eagles in the painting on his table. I said,”Where is the eagles?” There, just as he was about to point to me, I saw it myself as well, that on the top right hand corner of the paper was drawn some birds flying. Next, he took a small piece of ‘brown skin’ (scrapped from the dusty art), a small strip of ‘brown skin’ he held in his hand, and started to paste it onto the eagle on the paper. I was so surprised by what he did — using a piece of special glossy brown ‘skin’ to add on to the wings of the eagle!! What an unique piece of artwork it is going to be.
In this dream, if I was not wrong, it was about the Chinese deity, Tua Ya Pek also. I was on the journey to ‘discover’ (wonder if I used the right word) him. I saw a trail and people were going there…
22 September 2011: dream of fish and water — putting spirit into the dead fish
23 September 2011: dream of an old school, walking about the premises, talking to people. At a junction outside the school, talking to a Malay. After that, wanted to go back to the school again. This time I discover that the entrance of the school was so different from just now. Irene was with me. I told her,”How can we go back to the school?” The pathway in front of us leading to the school was that of a CAVE-like structures: consisting of stalagmites and stalactites. The pathway was so narrow that we had to crawl on the floor, but I said,”even our head got problem going through the ‘holes’!” The next moment, we were combat crawling on the floor and trying to get through the school entrance.
I awoken with Stiff Neck, so painful, and whole body aching.
24 September 2011: dream of NUS. But the most surprising part is what I had seen in this dream, especially it was about Irene again. This time it was Irene’s Father that I see!!!
Actually I don’t know where to start, but a few amazing things I see.
1. NUS, Orthopaedics
Now I was at NUS. Someone was telling me the way. Yet I was very blur, still do not know the way. Later I looked at the sign, and it was the word “Orthopadedic” (relating to the bone) which I had seen. I was told by the woman who asked me to come this way that there were at least 13 teeth dropping out of my right Jaw. That was a big number, I told myself.
As soon as I reached certain part of the school, I was asked,”Why do you want to choose to study this?” (it was a course written on the desk, not called Orthopaedics, but some kind of other words which I had forgotten.) I told the woman for some reasons and yet withheld another.
2. Richard dancing
I saw Richard wearing yellow and glittering overall, appearing like Elvis Presley. He was very young, perhaps I had not even known him yet. He was dancing so well, so charming. And yet, in front of me, it was my mother showing me a TV. The Television was a very old one, not our modern television. It was those thick and bulky television set. It played to show what Richard was doing, and the house had marble flooring. It was his old house, but yet, the layout was so much like that of our old house.
3. Irene’s Father, black and white/ no colour (Monochrome, Retro), like a portrait, and yet like moving..
The position(pose) of Irene’s Father was that of standing, with one hand (the left hand) stretching right up to the top of the corner of the door frame. He was standing at the door frame obviously. And yet it was like a photograph…
