Butter Cookies
By Peace | December 1, 2011
Christmas is coming soon. This festive season, since it is the children’s holidays, families might want to teach the children to make cookies. As for me, Clara had done a great job of making butter cookies. She had done some research on making cookies — library books and internet. I had always glanced through some recipes as well. And finally this time round, I had my own simple recipe, making our own butter cookies.
The above photograph shows the end result of butter cookies. They were made using various shape cutter, and the end result is butter cookies of various shapes — mainly hearts, stars or flowers. At the centre of the butter cookies, colourful sugary decoration or chocolate could be added (or even cereals like corn flakes).
How to Make Butter Cookies?
First of all, you need these ingredients: Butter, Sugar, Salt (optional), Baking Powder (Optional), Flour, Egg (s) (Optional), Vanilla Essence.
Mix the ingredients together and the result is a rounded ball.
(I mixed the butter with sugar first. Next, adding egg (s) and then flour.)
Flattening the dough on the dining table, I used the shape cutter to get various shapes which would then be placed on the baking tray.
This is the basic recipe for making butter cookies. Anything can be added to the dough such as banana, raisins and nuts (to suit your taste). Put in oven, baked until golden brown, and leave the cookies to cool down. Enjoy the cookies.
